The steps
1. It lands in a queue. Private — visible to the team, not to other
players. Your age, your availability and your Discord handle are not published
anywhere.
2. Someone reads it properly. Oldest first, unless something is urgent.
3. We look at your history here. Your posts, your reports, any punishments.
Not to catch you out — to see how you behave when nothing is at stake, which
predicts the job far better than an application does.
4. A conversation on Discord, if it gets that far. Not an interview. A
conversation, usually about situations: "somebody says they were banned
unfairly and is getting loud in chat — what do you do?" There is no trick
answer.
5. A decision, with a reason. You will be told either way, and you can see
the status yourself in your account area at any time.
How long
Weeks rather than days, and that is deliberate. A staff decision made quickly
is a staff decision made badly, and undoing one costs far more than the wait.
You can withdraw your application at any time from your account area if your
situation changes.
If you are accepted
You get the role, access to the team area, and somebody to ask. Nobody is
dropped into moderation alone — the first weeks are shadowing and questions.
The role is not permanent tenure. Staff who disappear without a word lose it,
and that is not a punishment, it is bookkeeping.
If you are declined
You get a reason. Not a form letter — an actual reason, because a rejection
you cannot learn anything from is a waste of both our time.
You can apply again after the cooldown. A second application from someone
who took the first rejection seriously and fixed the thing is a genuinely
strong application. That is not a consolation line; it is where a good share
of any team comes from.
What does not influence the decision
- How much you have spent in the store. Zero effect, in either direction.
- How many posts you have here. Volume is not reliability.
- Who you know on the team. It gets your name recognised. It does not get
you the role.
