tsunanaaAdminApplications go through the form at /ggnetwork/apply,
not through a forum thread. The form asks the right questions in the right
order and keeps your answers private — a public application means a public
rejection, and nobody deserves that.
What the job actually is
Mostly it is being available and unexciting. Answering the same question
for the fortieth time as if it were the first. Reading a report properly when
it would be quicker not to. Staying level when chat is not.
It is not a rank. It is not a badge. It is work, and the parts of it that
matter are the parts nobody sees.
What we are looking for
Being around regularly. Not many hours — predictable hours. Someone
online for an hour most evenings is worth more than someone online for twelve
hours one Saturday a month.
Staying calm when chat gets loud. The whole job, compressed. If you get
drawn into arguments, this role will make you miserable and it will make the
server worse.
Seeing things through. A report picked up and half-finished is worse than
one nobody touched, because the queue says it is handled.
Saying "I don't know". The most valuable sentence a new staff member can
learn. Guessing at an answer about payments or bans creates a problem that
somebody senior then has to unpick.
Experience is good. Reliability is better. We would take a steady newcomer
over a veteran who disappears for a month.
Hard requirements
- Your forum account is confirmed and linked to your Minecraft name.
- No active punishments, and no recent serious ones.
- You have actually played here. Not a fixed number of hours — but you
need to know how the modes work and who the regulars are.
- You can be contacted on Discord.
- Minimum age 16 for Support and Moderation. Younger applications for
builder or media work are welcome.
What the role does not get you
Free ranks. Access to other people's accounts. Immunity from the rules — in
practice the opposite, since a staff member breaking a rule is worse than a
player doing it.
Also: it does not get you the ability to ban people you dislike. Every action
is logged with who did it, and the log is read.
