Added
- Activity feed. The forum front page now shows new
topics and new replies in one stream, instead of only listing topics.
There is a full page at /ggnetwork/forum/activity.
- Notifications. A bell in the header. You get one when somebody replies
to your topic, quotes or mentions you, reacts to your post, marks your reply
as the solution, or when staff acts on a topic of yours. You never get one
for your own action.
- Mentions. Writing
@namelinks to that profile and notifies them. An
unknown name stays plain text rather than becoming a link to a missing
profile. Quoting someone now mentions them automatically — one mechanism
instead of two.
- Watching topics. Follow a topic you did not start. Participating follows
it automatically; unfollowing sticks, so your next reply does not silently
re-subscribe you.
- Ranks on posts. Your rank badge and join date show next to your name.
- Forum statistics. Topics, posts, members, newest member, and members
active in the last ten minutes. That last one counts forum activity, not
players on the Minecraft server — those are two different numbers and giving
them the same name would make both useless.
- Trending. Topics with real movement. A topic with no replies, no
reactions and no views is not trending, so it does not appear — and if fewer
than three topics qualify, the section stays hidden instead of padding
itself out.
- Staff applications. A proper form at /ggnetwork/apply
with a review queue, instead of "post a thread and hope".
Changed
- Jump to the last post from a topic list, and permalink any reply.
- Quotes now read
> @name wrote:instead of bold text, so the quoted
person actually finds out.
Fixed
- Forum search was quietly losing results. The query was stemming with
German rules against an index built with English ones, so words that should
have matched did not. One-word fix, real effect.
- "Members online" was measuring nothing. Session activity was written
once at sign-in and never updated, so the number meant "signed in at some
point", which is not what anybody reads it as. It now updates as you browse.
Known
- Email delivery is still broken.
- Search still does not cover replies, only titles and opening posts.
- Reaction counts on your profile are capped at the most recent 200 of
your own posts. The page says so rather than quietly rounding.
