Everything mechanical about this place, in one thread.
The categories
| Category | For |
|---|---|
| Announcements | Us to you. Read-only except where a thread invites replies. |
| General | Anything about the network that is not a bug or an appeal. |
| HeartSMP / HeartGen | Mode-specific talk, guides, group finding. |
| Help | Questions. Answers get marked, so the next person finds them. |
| Appeals | Ban and mute appeals. One thread per appeal. |
| Applications | Staff applications and everything about the process. |
Posting in the right one is not bureaucracy — it decides who sees your post.
Marking an answer
Help topics can have a solution. If you asked and someone solved it, mark
their reply. Two things happen: the topic gets a badge, and it disappears from
the Unsolved tab so people looking for something to answer can find the ones
that still need it.
Mark the reply that solved it, not the nicest one.
Reactions
Six of them: 👍 ❤ 😂 😮 🔥 👎
They are not a voting system and they do not change ordering. Use 👍 instead
of posting "this", and everyone reading the topic later is better off.
Quoting
Hit quote on a post and it lands in your reply box, credited. This also
mentions the person, so they find out you answered them. Quote the part
you are responding to, not the whole post — a chain of full quotes is a wall
that nobody reads.
Mentions
@name links to that profile and sends a notification. Unknown names stay
plain text. Do not @ staff to get faster attention; it does not work and it
is noticeable.
Formatting
**bold** · *italic* · ` code · > quote · spoiler · @name`
There is a full cheat sheet in General.
Editing
You have a grace period after posting to fix typos. After that, edits are
marked as edited — deliberately. A thread where posts can change silently is
one where no reply means anything.
Reporting
Every post has a report option. Use it instead of replying to the problem;
replying to bait doubles the mess and puts you in the report too.
State which rule and what you expected. "This is stupid" is not a
report. "Advertising another server, third paragraph" is.
What gets a thread locked
Repeating an argument that already has an answer, appeals posted outside
Appeals, and threads that have turned into two people shouting. Locking is not
a punishment. It is us saying this has finished.
