There is no fixed weekly schedule. Events happen when someone has time to run
one, and pretending otherwise would just mean a calendar that is wrong most
weeks.
What we can promise is that you will not miss one because it was announced
somewhere you were not looking.
Where events get announced
- Discord — always first, usually with the most notice.
- In game — when it starts, and shortly before.
- This category — for anything with rules worth reading in advance, or
with results worth keeping afterwards.
Anything with prizes attached gets a forum thread. That is deliberate: a
prize announced only in chat is a prize nobody can check afterwards.
What an event thread will always contain
- When, with a timezone.
- What the rules are, especially where they differ from the normal rules.
- What you can win, stated exactly. No "great prizes".
- Whether it is worth showing up at low hearts — because on this mode that
is the actual question.
Player-run events
Run your own. Build competitions, tournaments, races, a market day — post it
here and people will come.
Two things worth saying if you do:
- The normal rules still apply. An event is not a suspension of them.
- If you promise prizes, say what they are and hand them over. Nothing
poisons a community faster than a competition whose winner never got paid.
If you want an event supported — announced in game, or with something from us
as a prize — ask on Discord first rather than announcing it and hoping.
Results
Post them. A finished event with no write-up is one that, in three months,
nobody can prove happened.
