Trading between players is normal and good. It is also where most of the
avoidable losses on this mode happen. Here is what protects you and what does
not.
What is a rule break and what is just the mode
Betrayal is not a rule break. A base partner who empties the chests and
leaves has played the mode. Unpleasant, allowed, and a reason to be careful
about who gets access to what.
Scamming an agreed trade is worth reporting: both sides agreed to an
exchange in game, one side took and did not give. Report it with the time it
happened and what was agreed.
Trading off-server is against the rules and unprotectable. Items or ranks
for real money, for accounts, for favours on another server — not allowed, and
if it goes wrong we cannot help. Not "will not": cannot. We can see what
happened in our game. We cannot see what happened in a private message
somewhere else.
How to trade safely
Split it. Half, then half. A scammer who takes the first half has taken
half.
Trade where it can be seen. A public spot with other people around is
worth more than any promise.
Do not trade under time pressure. "Quick, before I log off" is the oldest
one there is.
Be careful about who is talking. Names can be similar. Check the exact
spelling before you hand something over.
What to keep
If a trade matters, keep evidence before it goes wrong, not after: a
screenshot of what was agreed, with the time visible. A report with a
timestamp and a screenshot gets acted on. A report that says "he scammed me
yesterday, I think" mostly cannot be.
Ranks and keys are not tradeable
A purchased rank belongs to the account named at checkout. Transferring one to
another name is not supported — not as a policy, as a fact about how delivery
works. Anyone offering to sell you their rank is either confused or lying, and
either way you will lose the money.
If it happens anyway
Report it, and post in Help if you are not sure whether it counts. Better to
ask about a report that turns out to be nothing than to eat the loss quietly
and let the same person do it to somebody else.
