Reporting a player
In game or on Discord if it is happening right now. Someone cheating is
only catchable while they are online.
Here in the forum if it needs a record — repeated behaviour, something
with evidence, something that needs more than one sentence.
A report needs three things:
- Who. The exact name. Names can be very similar on purpose.
- What rule. "Advertising", "cheats", "insults" — say which. "He is
toxic" is a feeling, not a report.
- When. Time and timezone. This is the one people leave out and it is the
one that makes a report actionable, because it is how we find it in the
logs.
Evidence helps enormously. A video is worth more than a screenshot; a
screenshot with the time visible is worth more than one without.
Reporting a forum post
Every post has a report option. Use it rather than replying to the problem —
replying doubles the mess and puts you in the report too.
Reporting a bug
Report faults instead of using them. This is in the rules and it is meant
literally: report a duplication bug and you get a reward, use one and you lose
the account. Those are the same policy from two sides — a duped economy cannot
be repaired by hand, only rolled back, and that costs everybody else their
week.
A good bug report has:
- What you did, step by step, so we can try it.
- What happened, and what you expected instead.
- Whether it happens every time.
- When, with a timezone.
What happens after you report
It gets looked at. Reports go into a queue that staff work through, and
serious ones jump it.
You will usually not be told the outcome. That is not us ignoring you —
punishments are between us and the person punished. If you see the same person
still doing the same thing a week later, report again and say it is a repeat.
What not to do
- Do not handle it in public chat. It never once helped.
- Do not post your evidence in a screenshot thread. It belongs in a report
where somebody can act on it.
- Do not report as revenge. Reports are logged, and a pattern of false
ones is its own problem.
