The rules page is deliberately short. Short rules get
read; long ones get skimmed. But short rules also invite "where exactly is the
line", so here is the reasoning behind each block.
Fair play
The test is simple: **does it give you something another player with the same
client cannot have?** If yes, it is banned. That covers killaura, reach, fly,
X-ray, auto-clickers and macros, including the "I was just trying it out"
version — we cannot tell the difference from the outside, and neither can the
person you were fighting.
Mods that pass the test are fine: Optifine, minimaps **without an entity
radar, Schematica without printer**, performance mods. The entity radar
and the printer are the exceptions for the same reason: they hand you
information or actions the vanilla client does not have.
When in doubt, ask on Discord first. A question costs nothing. A ban costs
your account.
Bug abuse
Report faults instead of using them. We pay for duplication bug reports and we
ban for duplication bug use, and those two sentences are the same policy seen
from two sides. An economy that has been duped is not repairable by hand — the
only fix is a rollback that costs everyone else their week.
How we treat each other
Trash talk in PvP is part of the game and always will be. The line is at
people: insults aimed at families, origin, religion or gender are not trash
talk, they are just abuse with a game attached.
No personal data, yours or anyone else's. Sharing someone's data or
threatening to is a permanent ban with no appeal path worth the name.
No advertising other servers — in chat, on signs, in books, or here.
Accounts and trading
One account belongs to one person. Alts to dodge a punishment, farm vote
rewards or scout someone's base are all the same offence.
No trading outside the server. Items or ranks for real money, for accounts,
for favours elsewhere — not allowed, and more importantly not protectable. If
you get scammed off-server we genuinely cannot help you, because we cannot see
what happened.
Ranks are tied to the account you named at checkout. Moving one to another
name is not supported.
Building and griefing
On HeartSMP, raiding is the mode. Bases may be attacked and looted. What
you do not take with you, you also do not blow up wholesale — the difference
between raiding and demolition is whether anything is left to raid next week.
No lag machines. Redstone, mob farms and item piles that measurably hurt
server performance get removed without replacement. This is not a judgement on
your build, it is arithmetic about everyone else's tick rate.
What happens when a rule breaks
| Severity | Consequence |
|---|---|
| Minor | Warning, then mute or kick if it repeats |
| Serious | 1–30 day ban, items may be confiscated |
| Cheats, doxing, bug abuse | Permanent ban of the account and every alt tied to it |
Think a punishment is wrong? Open an appeal in the Appeals category. Arguing
in public chat has never once changed an outcome.
