Crate keys

Which crates exist, the four ways to get a key, and what a key does not guarantee.

The crates#

Crates stand at spawn. Each one has its own key and its own loot table.

  • Kill — the entry crate.
  • KoTH — tied to the King of the Hill contest on

HeartGen.

  • Summer — the seasonal one.

A key opens exactly the crate it names. A Kill key does not open the KoTH
crate.

Four ways to get one#

Buy it. Crate Keys in the store.

Vote for it. Spend shards in the shard shop. This
is the free route — it costs time instead of money.

Reach a milestone. The early
vote milestones hand out keys.

Connect your Discord. Worth one Kill key, once per account.
How that works.

What a key does not promise#

The contents are random within that crate's table. A key is a draw, not a
purchase of a specific item.

That is worth being blunt about, because it is where disappointment comes from:
opening five keys and getting five things you did not want is not a fault, a
bug, or bad luck that anyone can correct. It is what a random table does.

If you want a specific thing, buy the specific thing where one exists.

Keys arrive like everything else#

Through the delivery queue, addressed to
a Minecraft name. You do not need to be online.

Keys are items in your inventory once delivered — which means, on
HeartSMP, that they can be lost like any other
item. Open them rather than carrying them around.
