The shard shop
Spending shards, what limits and cooldowns mean, and why an item can be visible but not for sale.
Redeeming#
The shard shop is where shards turn into things. Pick an
item, confirm, and it is delivered the same way a purchase is — through the
delivery queue, to a Minecraft name.
If you have not stored a Minecraft name, you are asked for one when you redeem.
The same warning applies as everywhere else: it has to be exact.
Limits and cooldowns#
Some items carry one or both:
A per-player limit. You can own it a fixed number of times, ever.
A cooldown. You can take it again, but not yet.
Both are fairness controls rather than technical limits, and the shop tells you
which one is in the way when it stops you.
Not enough shards#
The shop will not let you overspend, and it will not half-complete. Either the
redemption happens whole — shards deducted, entitlement created, delivery
queued — or nothing happens at all.
That includes the awkward case of clicking twice quickly on the last item you
can afford: one of the two goes through, the other is refused for lack of
balance. You cannot end up below zero and you cannot get it twice.
Visible but not available#
Some entries are in the catalogue and not on sale. That is intentional and it
is not a bug.
An item is only published once the command that grants it has been confirmed
with the people running the game server. An unconfirmed command would not fail
loudly — it would sit in the queue, retry, and end as failed while you waited
for something you had already paid shards for. Better to show the intent and
not take the shards.
Where it goes after redeeming#
Straight into the delivery queue. Check
Account → Ranks for the state, and read
Purchase has not arrived if it sits
there longer than you expected.
