HeartGen — generators

How generator income works, what ranks change, and where KoTH and crates fit in.

The loop#

HeartGen is an economy mode. You place generators, generators produce over
time, you sell what they produce, and you spend the proceeds on more and better
generators.

Everything else on the mode hangs off that loop: your base exists to protect
generators, your fights are usually about generators, and your progress is
measured in how much you produce per hour rather than in what is in your
inventory.

What actually limits you#

Two things, and they are different:

Capacity — how many generators you can run at once. This is the ceiling
that stops early players. More capacity is the main thing ranks change.

Throughput — how fast what you own produces and how quickly you turn it
into currency. This is a question of layout, of upgrading rather than adding,
and of not letting output sit uncollected.

New players almost always chase capacity when throughput is the cheaper win.
Upgrading a generator you already have is usually better than placing another
low tier one.

Ranks#

The Gen Ranks category is the one part of the
store with real, delivered content today. The ranks are tiered — VIP, Gold,
Platinum, Heart — and the higher the tier, the more the capacity ceiling moves.

What each one gives is on its own product page, along with the price. This
article deliberately does not repeat those numbers: they live in the store, and
a wiki that copies them goes stale without anyone noticing.

A rank is permanent unless the product says otherwise. A rank bought for a
limited time extends rather than replaces if you buy it again — so buying two
28-day periods gives you 56 days, not a reset.

KoTH#

King of the Hill is a scheduled contest over a point on the map. Hold it long
enough without being pushed off and it pays out.

It is the one part of HeartGen where fighting is the point rather than a side
effect, and it is the main reason to keep combat gear even if you never intend
to raid anyone. Times are announced in
the announcements category and on Discord.

Crates#

Crates sit at spawn. Each one takes its own key, and the contents are random
within that crate's table.

Keys come from three places: the store,
the shard shop if you would rather vote than pay, and
connecting your Discord, which is worth one
key exactly once.

More on how keys arrive: Crate keys.
